Shea Moisture African Black Soap: First Impression

This winter, I decided to change up my skin routine and keep it simple.

Previously I was using some products from the Neutrogena Visibly Even line that I liked very much, but I think my skin got too used to the formula.

So after searching the web and recommendations from friends, I decided to give black soap a try.

I went out and bought Shea Moisture African Black Soap.

This soap is specifically made for acne prone and troubled skin. What’s great about this soap is all the natural ingredients inside.

Some of the ingredients include African shea butter, aloe, oats, plantain extract, and Vitamin E. And that’s just to name a few. You will be able to pronounce every ingredient in this soap. For me, that’s a sign of a truly natural product.

I had heard about African black soap before. But the appearance of this soap was not very flattering to me. Call me crazy but I am all about presentation.

The sleek, black look of the Shea Moisture black soap was more appealing to me.

The only downside to this product is the smell. To me, it smells like bubble gum. You might be reading this and thinking, “what’s wrong with that? I love that smell!”

Well if that’s you, then great. I personally don’t like the smell of bubble gum, but the smell isn’t so strong that it will prevent me from continuing to use this soap.

I am eager to see how it works for me.

Look forward to seeing more from me on this soap!
